What sort of political nongs dishonestly introduce a fiercely resisted tax and then fail to gain any income from it? Is there anything this rabble can do competently?
THE ferocious miners’ campaign that led to Kevin Rudd’s removal as prime minister was a direct result of an assurance Wayne Swan gave Rio Tinto that the resource super-profits tax had not been settled — four days before he announced a final version of it.
They seem competent enough at emulating Whitlam and his government.
As Tony Abbott put it: Labor introduces a tax that kills confidence, yet fails to raise any revenue.
