Hmmm, Labor’s unrelenting attack on Tony Abbott has really worked well, hasn’t it?

SUPPORT for the Gillard government has fallen and Tony Abbott’s personal position has improved during three weeks of intense political debate about the Opposition Leader’s attitude to women.
Electoral backing for Labor and the Coalition has returned to the positions held for most of this year, and voter satisfaction with the way Mr Abbott is doing his job has lifted from an equal record low in the middle of last month.

    Aaaargh! Oops, pardon me.

Why do some think that the position of Prime Minister is attained through a popularity poll? Or a beauty contest? Should we ask Sandra Bullock to run the ship of State on the ground that she was Miss Congeniality?

Why is Labor bringing in gender apartheid? If a person is unsuitable because he or she is not adored by women, then what happens if he or she is not admired by men?

I would dearly wish the Government to work assiduously on good governing. Instead it seems to be opposing the Opposition, when that is the task of the opposition.

    (Another stifled cry of anguish)

Thank you Bernie – I now feel a little better.
