I WONDER if all those people indulging in a self-righteous frenzy about those unpleasant remarks by Alan Jones will stop for a moment and ponder how similar they are getting to the frenzied Muslim fundamentalist mobs who recently protested so violently over that silly film.
It’s only another silly event, people, so stay calm and carry on.

Familiar frenzy, what a load of rubbish. Comparing a violent riot & people inciting violence & wanting others beheaded is the same as people wishing to disown a insensitive old jerk claiming a daughter was responsible for her fathers death. Absolute rubbish.
How would you feel Bernie if your daughter died recently & I claimed you were responsible. Lets say you did business with me, would you continue to do so? I think we both know the answers to these questions. A hypocrite never looks at it that way.
Absolute tripe, Jack. The letter writer’s valid comparison was of irrational mobs wanting to shut up their opponents. Are the same people condemning ABC darling Catherine Deveney for wishing an editor died of arse cancer? Are they lashing out at Minister Chris Bowen’s wife for wishing Jones’ death? Or blasting Labor speechwriter Bob Ellis for mocking a mourning Gillard for returning from an overseas conference when her father died? And hypothesising about tragedy befalling an antagonist’s family member is about as low as you can go and rivals nazi slurs as a sign you have lost the argument. Don’t bother coming here again if that is all you can intellectually muster.
I do not like Deveny & the actions of her,Ellis & Bowens wife are low acts as two wrongs or in this case multiple wrongs never make a right. If anyone accused myself of being responsible for the death a loved one so recently after their death, I would wash my hands of them as most would. That was my point to you. It is absurd to compare the violence of those Muslim riots to the outrage & boycott of Alan Jones.
How on earth you can bring the NAZI’s into all this is beyond me, this truly shows how irrational you are. The horrors my father went through fighting the Germans in Africa & Europe can not be compared to anything involving either the Muslim riots, Alan Jones or the outrage from his comments. I am so glad I am not on you intellectual scale.

My point was that your hypothesis of tragedy occurring to my offspring as a form of argument rivals the hurling of nazi slurs as a sign you have lost the argument. Jones made an offensive tasteless aside (that only fools would take literally) not meant for general public consumption and an American idiot made an offensive tasteless video. The letter writer merely points out that those outraged by both events want to silence those responsible. In other words, deny them freedom of speech. Understand now?
