Boris Johnson just loves his Olympics.

The Games have been the most dramatic possible lesson in the virtues of ambition, hard work and competition. They are the opposite of the something-for-nothing culture. They could not come at a better time for a nation making a difficult psychological adjustment, after long years of easy credit and ballooning debt.

Please tell me Bernie, has Britains debt come down since the electoral victory of David Cameron & the tories along with having these Olympics or has it increased. Britain is just like the rest of Europe, a basketcase and their economy just like the debt ridden Europeans and Americans with their ballooning debt outweighing GDP well over 100% are economies inevitably going to collapse soon & no Olympics is going to save the world economy from the next GFC that will usher in the most devastating great depression of all time. NOTHING.

Watch the use of capitals. They can be seen as a sign of hysteria, even delusion. And don’t try and pin Boris’ words on me. I merely like the cut of the man’s optimistic jib.
