Darren Cheeseman seems to be going out of his way to be seen as the biggest dill to ever sit in Federal Parliament.
CORANGAMITE MP Darren Cheeseman has been accused of misleading some of his most vulnerable constituents by promising pensioners a cash windfall that they’ve already received.
In a letter sent to pensioners in the country’s most marginal electorate last week, Mr Cheeseman said this year’s Federal Budget would increase their government handout by $154 per fortnight for singles and $156 for couples.
But the figure quoted by Mr Cheeseman is how much pensions have risen in the past three years.
You might recall that when this bloke won his seat – based in Geelong and points south-west – he celebrated with friends and family in Ballarat.

Is this guy part Cherokee?
I would be delighted if some of our pensioners made their way in a boat to Christmas Island minus any documentation.
I would be further delighted if, on being “intercepted”, they claimed they were seeking asylum and then laid claim to the appropriate benefits.
In fact, I would happily donate $100 towards such a venture.
This is the usual Labor Mantra…to mislead the Parliament…then mislead the people…apparently it’s become acceptable behaviour that starts right at the top…with the PM…who just happens to be the most misleading of them all…’whatever it takes’Labor….the bar has been set so low now…a snake could not slither under it…unless of course it’s a Labor snake…
The Liberals in Coragamatite should be ashamed of themselves to let this peanut win in a Conservative regional electorate, even if it was only by a handful of voted. You might notice that he is mighty pushy in getting his NAME up there and Labor gives him a written ‘Dorothy fixer’ to ask every second question time. Surely his electors will see through this over-acting but the Libs need to lift their effort to get rid of him.
Like most Labor politicians, Cheeseman is poorly informed about their government’s policy and it’s implementation. Seems to be a common factor from the Prime Minister down.
Hi Bernie, just a bit info…we are to be honored here in Portland with a talk in relation to ‘Social and economic impact of rural windfarms’…Talk by Senator Nick Xenophon and Senator John Madigan (who??)
Held at the Portland Arts Centre at 7pm on the 12th of June…
Be there or be square..I suppose??…hahaahah
If you have ever watched Cheeseman at work in the house, a goose, an incompetent, is the only conclusion possible. One needs a license to cut hair; to run the nation, no qualification needed. How very sad!
What was that margin of the Corangamite win again?
What is the number of Pi$$ed off voters from this faux pas–never mind, I feel it will be sufficient!
He’s no dill he is just a common everyday A.L.P liar .
This is not the first time my theory seems to gain substance with this Australian Federal Labour Party “Not every goose has a long neck”
A toss up between Crean,Ferguson and Bowen for not having the guts to stand up and publicly reject the Carbon Tax legislation one amongst the many economy destroying decisions of the Rudd/Gillard Governments
Jeff- John Madigan is DLP. He and Nick Xenephon are asking if windfarms are bad for humans (or, that is my interpretation).
My comment is that windfarms can be bad for humans, and the two should be separated. Here in SE of SA we have a govt that gives developers almost open slather to erect windfarms, and hence the developers wish to weave that amongst closely settled land.
Why not build them in sparsely populated areas? After all, electricity is rather easy to transmit, but once a windfarm is up, it is there for decades.
If you believe that windfarms ought not take priority over the rights and expectations of farmers and small towns, then you might want to go to the meeting.
Cheers
