Now that Australia’s biggest-selling newspaper has devoted a big spread to what is planned at the Copenhagen conference on global warming (that isn’t occurring), surely other Australian media will be shamed into accepting that Rudd handing over $7b annually of taxpayers’ hard-earned to third-world thugs might just be a story.
In the meantime those who feel strongly about the issue should consider contacting their local MPs. This has been sent today to Member for Corio Richard Marles.

Mr Marles,
Do you support the terms of a United Nations treaty to be presented in Copenhagen next month that will require developed nations like Australia to hand over .07 of GNP to developing countries under the pretence of combating global warming? I, like members of your government, such as Martin Ferguson and Craig Emerson, believe that manmade global warming is nothing more than a theory, and an unproven one at that. The world’s climate is constantly changing — it is currently in a cooling phase — and to believe that human activity is significantly contributing to this is a view embraced only by a rapidly diminishing minority throughout the world. Unfortunately that minority includes politicians, media and academics who have prematurely committed to the myth and can’t stand to lose face now by accepting reality. Thus, I would like to know whether you, as my elected federal representative, support handing over around $7 billion of taxpayers funds to “developing” nations with leaders such as Mugabe, Chavez and the Burma Junta.
