David Evans, once a committed believer who produced scientific evidence for the Australian Greenhouse Office, has rejected the manmade global warming theory. With vigour:
But since 1999 new evidence has seriously weakened the case that carbon emissions are the main cause of global warming, and by 2007 the evidence was pretty conclusive that carbon played only a minor role and was not the main cause of the recent global warming. As Lord Keynes famously said, “When the facts change, I change my mind. What do you do, sir?”
Good points but the killer argument against rushing to save the planet is the fact that nothing that we do will make a tick of difference at the global level. That is a matter of simple arithmetic, regardless of the science of climate change.

Been a while. I am interested in this argument, as it begins/continues to rage.
There are a few facets of this argument, which in the current climate of CO2 paranoia, have been totally forgotten. CO2 is not the only culprit, in our current plight, or the extent of global warming.
This planet has been in the grips of industrialisation, for over 300 years. In that time, look at pollution controls over that period ? None ! The extent of pollutants that have been pumped into our atmosphere, over that period have been staggering. Twenty years ago, we were all in danger of lead poisoning from all sorts of manufacturing processes. Lead is not the only expellant. What about the rest of the crap that has pumped into our atmosphere over that time, all which create as much of greenhouse effect, just as much as co2 ? What’s next ?
What about China ? Look at their hunger for our natural resources ? The same as India, with their recycling of shipping. The controls are just non existant, in either country, so what happens, they flourish, with no guilt, pumping tonnes of crap into the atmosphere. Co2 is not the only chemical being pumped into our skies that can achieve the same deadly result ?
Why should we, as well as other (seen to be) affluent industrialised countries, have to pay for these countries that have no moral responsibility, to their fellow human beings, that have to live on the same planet ?
The global warming these days, is due to so many individual processes that have been raging since the 18th century ? No one has even mentioned, that aircraft, traversing the planet, are throwing out tonnes of kerosene fumes out their engines, and have done for fifty years. Steel, as well as other metal manufacturers likewise. Ever seen the crap coming out of Yallourn power station, (as well as many other coal burning stations throughout Oz), that does so on a 24/7/365 basis ? The amount of polluting industries apart from co2, are just staggering.
I am not a rampaging greenie, but something further to consider ?
What is main way that co2 is neutralised on this planet ? Trees ! Trees absorb co2, in their natural processes, and in that process, expel or convert that co2 to oxygen. SO, our co2 levels are increasing ? Want to know why, boy, the answer is not hard to find ?
What is happening to the world’s forest regions ? The Amazon is being massively stripped daily, as well as massive forests in Indonesia, to make our new dining room tables and so on. Where the hell do we think our oxygen, or the sponges/filters for increased co2 production is going to come from ? Bush fires in Indonesia, in a tropical rain forest ? Never heard of before in our life time. Don’t need to be Einstein to figure it all out.
Something to consider ? As for the climate conference, nice television, and some good speeches, but me thinks, 100 years too late.
Something to consider perhaps, or have I got it all wrong ?

The loonies would all be exposed and their bank accounts emptied if only people would read their history and talk to our indigenous people and the older generation.
