Liberal vote-winner   11/6/2006

The Coalition must have infiltrated Labor’s public relations machine. How else can you explain the appearance of a dud like Anthony Albanese on The Insiders this morning?
Wearing sticking plaster on his brow, adopting that hectoring “I know what’s right for you” tone so beloved of reformist politicians and bearing a gap-toothed countenance that would have an orthodontist drooling, Albanese was truly a televisual shocker.
And why do these Labor clowns think that atrocious diction is a vote-winner? Albanese — and Victorian Premier Steve Bracks for that matter — should get Bart Simpson-style lines: The name of the country is not Ostraya.
Freaking cretin!

Anthony Albanese is the first android to be elected to parliament, from my old haunt Syney’s Marrickville district I believe. He’s an early model though, mostly lizard-brain type functioning, ‘crush, kill, destroy’ in a flat monotone. More recent AI models (Bracks?) actually have sensitivity capacities.

Anyone who has watched that seminal Australian political documentary “Rats in the Ranks” would have to laugh at how Anthony “Toss for it” Albanese is supposed to be a minister in a Beazley government.

That, and I thought that nuclear was pronounced with the Nu sounding like New, rather than Noo.

The Labor party really are run by a bunch of brainless boofheads, either hectoring (like Albanese), or cold and arrogant (like Stephen Smith), or pretentious, full of false warmth and jocularity (Beazley) or lacking any personality whatsoever (Rudd). I say this with sadness, because it really would be nice to have a decent Opposition to temper the excesses of the ultra-Conservatives and the nationalise-everything Nationals in government.
